Ms. Farida Tareen was born on September 2, 1992 and received schooling from the Islamia Girls College Quetta and later graduated from Government College University Lahore. She has completed a Master's degree in Political Science and is currently running a private school to provide quality education to the people of Balochistan One of its main objectives is to ensure maximum gender parity. She has remained a member of Pakistan Girl Guides and one of the best parliamentary debaters in Government College University Lahore. She was also assistant editor of "Expressions" journal. Her key areas of interest are gender studies and good governance with an eye on national and international policies. She has written on social issues of Pakistan and that of women in many national magazines with a view to invite interest and attention of people towards them. She believes an understanding of the role of women in society and that of rulers in ensuring them their due rights is one of the main components of good governance and hopes to emerge as a sensible woman leader who could steer the people of her province out of its current turmoil. |
