Born on May 31, 1993 and belonging to the Karachi district of Sindh, Ziyad Sohail completed his O and A Levels from the Karachi Grammar School (KGS) and is currently pursuing BSc Management Science coupled with a minor in Public Governance from Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). Strong in academics, he was awarded the Bilquis Hasnain Memorial Cup at KGS and was placed on the Dean's Honor List in his sophomore year at LUMS. He has assumed leadership positions both at school and university: House Athletics Captain KGS and currently President LUMS Community Service Society (LCSS). Having a strong passion for serving the under-privileged, his society has been actively involved in numerous projects operating within and beyond the boundaries of LUMS, ranging from providing loans to support staff, conducting earthquake and flood relief drives, and teaching and mentoring public and low cost private school students in leadership and tolerance among many others. He is an ardent traveler and has embarked on several trekking trips to the provinces of Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir. He hopes to one day see the common man empowered and aspires to launch a project aimed at rehabilitating the street children of Pakistan. |
