Born on September 06, 1994, Mr. Fahad Ijaz hails from District Gujranwala (NA-98). A Graduate of UET Lahore, he is an Electrical Engineer belonging to the batch EE-2010. He is Bachelors of Arts form University of Punjab as well and currently preparing for Central Superior Service examination. In 2005, Mr. Ijaz was elected as child representative of his district in Government-run organization Office of Child Facilitation (OCF)- an initiative taken for the raising consciousness about child rights and highlighting the issue of Child Labor, Health, early marriages etc. In this position he coordinated and regulated with the Social Welfare Department, Punjab and financially and technically assisted by UNICEF Punjab. OCF comes into direct contact with children through various Children Forums and Assemblies conducted and summoned by DO (social welfare) of target district. Mr. Ijaz, in 2008, was elected as Vice President of Child Advisory Board (CAB)-a body authorized to take decisions regarding the programs of OCF and present them to the Director, Social Welfare Department for approval. And in that capacity, he represented Punjab in National Youth Forum held in 2008 in Islamabad. In 2010, He got 2nd position (F.Sc. Pre-Engineering) in BISE Gujranwala and received cash prize from Chief Minister of Punjab and honorary stay along with other High Achievers, in Governor House, Murree. During his stay at UET he joined Literary Society and served as the editor of the English-section of the monthly issue by the said society. He has special interest in English literature as well as in popularizing the ideas of Science with general public. He has delivered a series of lectures in Iqbal Academy, Lahore. He aspires to join Civil Services of Pakistan and wants to campaign for the promotion of science and democracy in Pakistan, which he believes to be the two sides of the same coin. |
