Mr. Saad Shaukat Elahi hails from Marala Gujjran, a Union Council in Tehsil Kharian, District Gujrat. He was born on January 26, 1993 and received his early education from the Army Public School, Kharian Cantt and Lawrence College Ghora Gali, Murree. He later joined the Sheikh Ahmed Hassan School of Law, LUMS and is currently pursuing his BA-LLB (Hon.) degree. He was the College prefect in Lawrence College and was awarded the Champion House Trophy on the 150th Founder's Day by the Chief Guest, Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani, the then Prime Minister of Pakistan. He was also the student editor of the Annual College Magazine "The Gallian". He represented the LUMS in the 7th International Humanitarian Law Moot organized by ICRC (International Committee of the Red Cross) and won the 1st LUMS-JPP Criminal Defence Moot organized by Justice Project Pakistan. He is actively involved in interfaith initiatives at the local level and participated in the 5th Annual Muslim Jewish Conference as a delegate, held in Vienna in 2014. He intends to be a corporate lawyer, and besides plans to undertake public-interest litigation in cases involving parties from religious minority groups. |
